Cabinets started and render done

Today the cabinets have been started in the ensuite, bathroom, pantry and laundry. The guy said they might be finished by tomorrow! We are happy with how the colour we have chosen has come up (Burnished Wood).

Ensuite vanity, nice and huge!

The guys were also very busy doing the render to the front facade today, they finished the whole lot. It is still to be painted (paperbark) later.

Spa In and doors on

I have been really struck down with flu last week so I have not posted for a while. The kitchen was meant to be installed last Thursday but has been delayed until tomorrow, we are looking forward to seeing that. The tiles we have chosen for our kitchen/dining/family/entry have been delayed so PD said we need to reselect. We have now decided to go with timber floors, a decision we are very happy about. PD will remove the tiles from the contract price and we can find our own supplier for the timber. Due to PDs huge markup on the tiles the timber will not end up costing that much more!

Our ensuite spa has been installed. It does not look very deep in the pictures but David assures me it is. How are the wall taps going to reach?

Cornices done

This are still moving along. It is much harder to go in and take photos now because it is always locked, damn!! We have to go during the day if we want to take pictures now. I don't think any pictures will be exciting now until cabinets are installed or painting starts.

The cornices have been finished and the doors and skirtings have been delivered. With any luck they will start on the doors and skirtings tomorrow.

We upgraded to the Jazz cornice in the living areas, this is the dining room.

More Plaster

The hanging of the plaster sheets is nearly finished. From what I can tell there are just a few spots in the ceiling to be finished.

This picture is looking towards our kitchen, you can see the fridge space and the walk in pantry next to it. This area has an extra raised ceiling.

They have also plastered the inside of the garage

Plastering has started

Well we are now on day two of plastering finally! I have not posted for ages because plastering had been put off by an entire month to enable PD to fix the problems Kevin found at the pre-plaster inspection. From what I can tell it took a maximum of two days to actually fix the problems so the rest of the month was just messing around. Our site supervisor "A" obviously could not cope with the issues so he was taken off our job and we now have site supervisor "C". We are glad to be rid of "A" as he never called us once to let us know where we were up to.

In my last post on 28th May I emailed our CSR about the claimed rain days that it was not raining on and she was going to get back to me. Still no response, what a surprise! I have even emailed a reminder about it and since then forwarded the same email again. Maybe like our last CSR she has left the company and no-one has told us again???

Anyway it is great to see the plaster finally started apparently they will finish tomorrow or Monday and then a different crew come to do the skirtings etc.

This is the rumpus room half done.

This is the most recent picture of the front of the house. It looks a lot neater now the bricks are clean.

Finally a Response

PD finally got back to us about some resolutions to the problems Kevin found.
- 2 of the issues have apparently been fixed (we have not been in the house lately so we will check this out tomorrow).
- 4 of the issues were explained how they are going to be fixed
- 5 of the issues are being discussed with the Construction Manager and remedial action will be determined and will be advised in due course

Frustration a plenty

Things are very frustrating at the moment. It has been nearly two weeks since PD has received Kevin's inspection report and we have had NO feedback! PD have had BSS back to check over the things in Kevin's report, I guess to decide whether to believe it but we have heard nothing about this either. Our site supervisor is not returning any of David's calls so we have no idea what is going on. Nothing has been done on the house over the last few days and even though we just paid the massive lockup invoice we still do not have a roof on our study so we are not even really at lockup.
